Malawi construction project

In May of 2007 Rene joined a team of 7 other people on a short-term mission trip to Malawi Africa.

“I had never done anything like this before. I felt I needed to act to help these orphans and not just sit by and hope someone else would do something. Our goal was to build a small building that would serve as a feeding centre for the orphans in a small community just outside Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi.

We also took with us almost 700 "Bags of Hope". Each bag contained school supplies, toiletries, and gifts for children of various ages. It was a life changing experience for me and I hope to go back to Africa to do something similar in the near future.”

Thanks to those who helped Rene raise $3,500 for the trip. A special thanks to Slegg Lumber for their donation of $500 If you would like to contribute to this on-going cause please call Rene @ (250)538-8339
